Makes statement that on the 25th December 1864 a party of white men with a colored man seized and carried away three colored men and murdered them - and that the Civil Authorities do not take any action in the matter.

Respectfully referred to Bt. Maj. Jno. Leonard A.S.A. Com'r Atlanta, Ga., who will proceed to Lawrenceville and arrest all the parties implicated in the murdering of the three freedmen within mentioned, if they can be found; and hold them until such time as the Civil authorities are prepared to give them a fair and impartial trial under Gen'l Orders No. 44, C.S. from Hd .Qrs. of the Army. These papers to be returned with action noted.
