Reports that in accordance with instructions he went to Lafayette, Walker Co, on 24th inst & investigated the case of Ezekiel Pool (freedman) summoned all parties interested and witnesses

Starling Mood presented his account for $113.47. against Pool & Pool his for 50 85. against Mood.

The account of Mood after examination of witnesses was reduced to 29 78. & that of Pool to 42 85

In case where expenses were incurred by attachment of freedmen's property by Civil Authorities and paid by Pool $10 00 Amount was directed to be returned by Mood making 23 10. due freedman which Mood promised to pay

There was no past cause of compliant against the Agent as the case then was before the Civil Courts Agents have not power enough to enforce their decisions &c.

Also enclosed paper of Sterling Mode releasing E. Pool from all suits against him &c.
