Dear Nell: I got your letter just as we are off to Bridport & London. The Abildgaard may not fit in the car & then it would have to be shipped separately. I will get the pedigree papers for it in Denmark but the experts there will have to agree about it. It may have to be x-rayed or what ever. Love, Clifford.

TRINIDAD - Feb. 14, 1973

Welchman's Hall Gully. In the center of Barbados in the parish of St. Thomas is this paradise valley of tropical plants and trees.

Hello to Ulli

Dear Howard, Delighted to have seen you in London. My adventures have begun well, though the equatorial heat is intense & hard to get accustomed to, particularly on shipboard, where sun striking steel makes parts of the ship like a furnace. Only at night is there a respite - then the stars, including the southern cross, are a wonder. Have seen the scarlet ibis & the lake of pitch. Tomorrow we sail for the Amazon River, the forests of cinnamon, and the Orinoco tribes. Love Tom.

From the beautiful pictorial book "Barbados" by Hans W. Hannau.
