TG In reality opposites are one; art shows this. - Eli Siegel

TERRAIN GALLERY 141 GREENE STREET, NEW YORK, N.Y. 10012 777-4426

January 26, 1984

Dear Nell Blaine,

Chaim Koppelman has suggested we write to you. We are asking artists to sign the enclosed petition to the art press for complete fairness to Eli Siegel and Aesthetic Realism. The art press, like the press in general, has not had fairness as its objective, and there is scarcely anyone who hasn't suffered from it.

We are certain that if the art press had been fair to Eli Siegel and Aesthetic Realism in 1955 or in the years since, all artists would have benefitted. Art would be cared for and understood in a way that, as yet, it is not.

We hope you will join us and hundreds of other people in the arts who have signed this petition insisting that injustice stop. Please sign, and initial the column marked "print perm" if you give permission for your name to be used in an advertisement to appear in February, publishing this petition. You may use the enclosed envelope to return it to us.

Sincerely,
Carrie Wilson
