April 1 '78

Dear Connie, April Fool's day prompts me to write you a cheery note: Paris Spring time encourages me to look forward...

All fine here. Itaka is home for a 10 day Spring break.
Cristobal is gay and growing.

April 25, Hi Connie, I found this letter begun and neglected in one of my strained periods of acrobatically collecting Itaka from the airport, rushing around, in short - the usual routine.

Now, early in the morning, under my tree in the salon I'm clearing off my desk preparing to leave for Rome with Cristobal school class (200 children)I'm an 'accompanying mother' - UGH - imagine the sacrifices we do make for our little ones - 20 hours on the train to go and
20 hours on the train return.

Last night we made waffles. It was hilarious: first with too thick expanding batter, then too thin leaving the holes between the grid = see through waffles. open
