Miss Sheila Hicks

Dear Sheila:

I just received a telephone call. The brown hanging has been sold and a check for $375.00 deposited to your account. You will notice that I upped the price because I thought it was too cheap, and after all it did include delivery.

Now, if you will send me another or perhaps two, one brown and another color - you choose it - I am quite sure I can perform equally well and equally quickly.

I am enclosing a little swatch which shows you which type of the Indian silk I have, and of which I hope you can send me another length. Or, better still, why don't you bring everything? Are you not due here soon? Do you know anything more about dates so I can plan my free time and hope that I am not West while you are East?......

I will save all the accolades and benedictions for when we meet.

Love.
