Dear Sheila:

Again our letters cross. Now you have, I hope, learned from Daniel about why the delay in the contract. Actually no real reason but simply Stan's characteristic constipation. About the reimbursement for ticket, ect., I have written to Daniel. I simply do not understand, can you explain, and if he has lost money, I'll get it out of AT&T.

Regarding the tapestry Biennale, what would you think of the idea of proposing Tom Messer of the Guggenheim? He is a museum man, he is both American and Europe oriented, and he really is interested. This might be a way to stimulate Guggenheim activity.

As I wrote before, I will not be leaving for Mexico until the third week in January. I will plan to stay about two to three and a half weeks and then on to Guatemala. If Brazil should materialize, it would be logical for me to go from Guatemala. Carnival in Brazil is held from February 28 through March 2. I would love to have you travel with me.

Did Jagoda really get the prize because as she wrote she was fearful that Jacques Lassaigne would not help her. Better she than anyone else, no?

More soon.

Love,
