Elephant Butte Dam is 318 feet from bottom of bed rock to top; it is 1674 feet long at the crest. The dam will form a lake 45 miles long and 193 feet deep, and will store 50 per cent more water than the famous Assuan Dam on the Nile, thus assuring that there can never be a failure of water in the El Paso and Mesilla Valleys, as the Dam already storing an immense volume of water will hold back supply sufficient to irrigate all the lands in the valleys even though there should be as many as four dry years in succession.

Chicago is quite tollerable for two hours this fair mild morn. I feel well & walked along the Lake just now. Find I did not give you extra mail box key, so don't lose yours. Hope you and Santa Fe are having a Happy Easter
