Dear Hedda: "Memorial" ("Decoration") day was the day, finally, that I decided to pull out of Betty's. By that time, Betty was, by one weekend, in Big Horn, Wyoming, getting set to fly over the pole to merry England, so I had to write her. The busy gallery tongue-tied me anyway. Thirteen (!) years with her. Soon I'll have a "memorial" show, some decoration day, in some outer flat space. Meanwhile we'll be in the city all summer.

Regards to Saul, Ad you feel like heaving a brick with me through a window of the museum of Modern Art this summer any day, you call me.
