Dear Jack:

Chunghi is here with me cooking elegant noodles and sweet conversations-and of course a lot of it is about you. I've wanted to write for so long about how much I've appreciated your help and concern with my work, you've been more than inspirational-and no less to my students all these years.

I'm so thrilled about the acquisitions to the Met. and the Am. Craft Museum that you & Chunghi made possible-it means so much to me-& someday to my grandchildren as well!

Enclosed a note book a dear friend found in a used book store in Michigan that is your study book during student days-I've treasured it for years & have shown it often to my students as part of my treasures. I thought at one time it should be given to the museum, but Chunghi thinks you'd enjoy having it.

Jack, you've been one important spirit I've known in this life, and I am very very lucky indeed.

Admiringly always
