July 1, 1925.

Dear Mrs. Twachtman,

I take pleasure in enclosing our check for the "White Sloop". Having promised it to you in July, I do not think getting it off to you on the first is such a very bad fulfillment.

One of our clients has just sent us one of Mr. Twachtman's small pictures which he wants us to sell for him. It is not signed and I am wondering if you would be willing to sign it with your initials underneath Mr. Twachtman's. I think this would be a perfectly legitimate thing to do and it is a beautiful little picture which should have this kind of attention. Would you be willing to do this, and if so, may I send it up to you at once?

Sincerely yours,

Mrs. J. H. Twachtman,
Greenwich, Conn.
