Sir

My purpose in addressing you and my apology therefor; I may be permitted to state is contained in the third paragraph of a circular issued from your "office", bearing date of Oct-3rd-1865 - And respectfully ask your personal inspection of the accompanying copy of a contract between myself and the freedmen on my place, and a careful consideration of the facts and views which I submit, as upon your decision in reference to them, must greatly depend the results to follow the efforts now being made in this region of country, to cultivate for the ensuing year the large area of land in Southern Geo - unsurpassed at least in this state for its capacities of production. I desire to learn whether there is any objectionable feature in that contract - and if so what - and that you may fully understand the reasons influencing me in fixing its various requirements,
