for labor - I am paying them this year the most liberal wages and am willing as you will perceive by my offer to give good wages for another year - under my proposition each prudent Freedman would have at the end of the ensuing year from me hundred to one hundred and twenty five dollars after paying all his expenses.  And if he will do a fair amount of labor, with the ordinary seasons and in the absence of extraordinary casualty the planter will be fairly renumerated for his investment.
