Respectfully asks if refugeed Freedmen from other States are furnished with transportation to their homes by the Freedmen's Bureau, when on destitute circumstances, and states that there are twenty two at Madison Ga. who have been refugeed there by their late owners, who desire to go to their homes, but lack necessary ability to execute their wishes. Eighteen of them from Hines Co. Miss and four from Charleston S.C.

The undersigned would state also that there is an old freed women, 70 or 80 years of age, in very destitute condition at this town. she was refugeed by her former owner from Cowetta Co. Ga. they returned some time ago leaving her a burden on the community. she is now being fed with the prisoners here though unconfined, and it is respectfully asked if transportation cannot be furnished her to Cowetta Co. Ga., and thus return her to her friends and family, and relieve the military authorities from furnishing her with rations. she is too old and feeble to earn her living
