Sir,
I have the honor to report that my agent at Albany, Maj. Frank Clendenian 147th Illinois, is relieved from his work; this detail being disapproved by the Department Commander. 
He had made a good beginning. 
My agent at Columbus, Lieut. Col. Herman N. Snow 151st Illinois, is made acting Provost Marshal General of Georgia on the Staff of the Department Commander in the absence of P.M. Gen. Grosvenor - Bvt. Brig. Gen - who has gone home to Ohio, electioneering on a legislative nomination.
Lt. Col. Snow had made a fine start. During his 3 1/2 weeks of service, he had accomplished a great deal. Indeed, he was quite ill from overwork.
The affairs of these two agents are now left to the Provost Marshals.
