Thomaston Dec 18th 1865

Davis Tillson
Brig Gen Vols and A.A. Com
Augusta Geo

Sir
Lieut Blessing has just returned from Macon and notifies me that I can proceed in the discharge of my duties.

I regret very much his prohibiting my transacting any business as Agent of the Bureau untill I receive further orders - all of which is explained in my communication to you of the 15th inst.

I am apprehensive that there will be a good number of women and children, that can not find homes in this county for another year, and will be [thrown?] up the charities of the world, Christmas.

You will oblige by informing me in what manner I shall provide for them absolute necessities at that peculiar crisis.

The Freedmen generally are trying to make contracts and seem disposed to act well. Some unfortunately have such large families that it is difficult for them to find an employer who will be willing to give them a support for their labor another year.

I am
Very Respectfully
Your Obedient Servt
