December 16th., 1926.

My dear Dr. Valentiner:

Many thanks for your short lines of December 14th., with which I found your statement as regards the Ferdinand Bol. It is indeed, a fine certificate you have given us and I deeply appreciate it. I know how highly you think of this picture and am not surprised to read your opinion about it.

I am sailing next week, for Europe, to be gone about two months and am sorry not to have the opportunity of seeing you again before them.

I have asked Mr. DeHauke, of DeHauke & Co., Inc., whose galleries are in our building, to ask you whether it would be agreeable to you to have an exhibition of Modern French Paintings about the 15th. of February. I have told Mr. DeHauke to use my name, and I thought that it might be convenient and agreeable to you.

With my very best wishes for the coming year, to Mrs. Valentiner and yourself,

Believe me to be,

Yours most sincerely,

Dr. W. R. Valentiner,
Detroit Institute of Art,
704 East Jefferson Avenue,
