I misinformed you about the Ivory Polyptic. I thought we had it shipped to New York, but it is still in Paris. I am writing to have it shipped immediately. In the meantime, when you will come to New York in December, I will show you one which I mentioned to you the other day in Detroit, which is earlier, quite from the beginning of the 14th Century, and which is the one we thought you had spoken of in Paris.

I am also very anxious for you to see again a little Marble St. John, which you had seen in Paris.

I just read your very interesting article about Giovanni di Agostino, and I wonder if this piece is not by that master. When you sas it in Paris, we considered it as a French work, but you were the first one to draw our attention that it was an Italian work, and it is so near to the St. John on fig.8 of your article, that I am very anxious to have your opinion about our group.

I am very much looking forward to seeing you here on the 10th of December. In the meantime let me hear from you, as I am at your entire disposal as regards the sailing of Mrs. Valentiner.

I hope these lines will find you in good health, and with best regards in which my cousin Germain joins me,

Believe me,

Yours very sincerely,
