Dr. W. R. Valentiner,
Director, Detroit Institute of Arts,
704 Jefferson Ave.,
Detroit, Michigan.

Dear Dr. Valentiner:

I don't remember having quoted you a price last year, for the Spanish statue, but I do not doubt that you will be satisfied with the price we are quoting you now, which is due to the recent drop of the Franc, and which is to be very agreeable to you. We will ask you Fourteen Hundred Dollars ($1400.) I would remind you that we quoted you Three Thousand Dollars for the Spanish silver and gilded silver, reliquary.

Herewith enclosed you will find a photograph of our Van Dyck. I am glad that you were so favorably impressed by this picture.

I mentioned your visit to one of our friends here, a banker, who has a very fine group of pictures. Will you let me know the next time you contemplate coming to New York, as it would interest you to see his collection and also to make his acquaintance, and I know that he would be very pleased to receive you as I have already had several occasions to mention you name in conversations I have had with him.

With kind regards,

Pray believe me,

Yours very sincerely,
