Dr. W. R. Valentiner,
Detroit Art Institute
704 E. Jefferson Ave.,
Detroit, Michigan.

Dear Dr. Valentiner:

I heard of your visit and I was sorry that I was not there myself to receive you. Both my cousin and I arrived yesterday on the Paris, after a very unpleasant crossing.

We have brought over some very fine things, and we are hoping soon to have an opportunity to show them to you..

In the meantime, I hope that these lines will find you and Mrs. Valentiner in good health.

With best regards,

Pray believe me,

Yours very sincerely,

P.S. We are again thinking of having a little exhibition in Detroit, of Limoges Enamels, Italian Majolicas, French Ivories and a few tapestries. You will remember, I think, that we discussed this with you last Spring. Would you advise us to have it at one of the hotels - the Manager of the Book-Cadillac is a friend of our's [[ours]] - or rather at the Arts and Crafts, as long as we cannot have it at the Museum.
