Dear Dr. Valentiner:

How pleased I am to hear that you are coming to town, and I am indeed looking forward to seeing you upon your arrival - just prior to my sailing.

Could you give me the very great pleasure of having luncheon with me Thursday? We might meet at about quarter of one at my office.

However, I shall call you up around 9:30 to find out what your plans are, and do hope I may count upon you for luncheon.

Believe me to be,

Yours very sincerely,

(Germain Séligmann)
