Dear Dr. Valentiner,

Another letter from me!  I hope you will not mind my bothering you as I do, but I have had from Europe a demand for one of the following paintings by Pieter de Hooch:

-"Mutter ihr Kind nährend" - New York, Private Collection
-"Das Marktgeld" - New York, Private Collection
-"Der Besuch des Liebhabers" - New York, Private Collection
-"Junges Paar beim Kartenspiel" - New York, Private Collection

I have tried pretty hard to know where they are, and am at a loss to locate them.

After hesitating a long time I thought you would not mind my asking you, as you are certainly the man to know about them.  When you are at leisure some time, do let me have this information if it is within your province.
