November 30th, 1935.

Dear Dr. Valentiner:

It would give me much pleasure to have a certificate by you on our MANTEGNA portrait. As you know, this painting has been recognized already by Messrs. BERENSON, VENTURI, GNOLI, SUIDA and others, but I would lay particular value on having also your opinion.

As my cousin, René is thinking of going to Detroit probably sometime during the week of the 8th to the 14th of this month, I am wondering whether he could take over to you the painting and the documents we have, or whether you are thinking of coming over here sometime in the near future.

I trust you are enjoying good health, and looking forward to hearing from you,

With kindest thoughts, believe me to be

Yours very sincerely,

(Germain Séligmann)
