Nov. 19th, 1931. Dear Dr. Heil: [[check mark]] I hope my lines of a short time ago reach you in good health. As a matter of fact, I had already intended writing these lines a few days ago, but had to leave New York unexpectedly and only returned to town the day before yesterday. It has come to my attention that you are writing a very important book on Gainsborough. Inasmuch as we have data and details about a number of extremely fine and important Gainsboroughs - paintings which we partly once owned or still possess, I wonder whether I cannot be of any assistance to you, and if it would interest you, give you any further information. Hoping I will have your good news very soon and trusting to see you in the near future, I am with my kindest regards, Always sincerely, (Rolf H. Waegen) Dr. Walther Heil Detroit Institute of Art, Detroit, Michigan. P.S. Will you also mention Gainsborough drawings?
