Dear Dr. Valentiner,

I have just come back from a very pleasant cruise in the Mediterranean Sea, and I take the liberty of writing you to ask you if you intend coming to New York in the near future, and in that event to be sure to let me know when you expect to be here.

I think it would interest you very much to see an extremely fine collection which has been built up by a friend of mine, who told me he would be very glad to show it to you, as of course when I suggested his doing so, he knew very well who you were and all about you.

We also have here several extremely fine pictures which you would enjoy seeing. One of them, I believe, would be of great interest to the Museum. Since we had the little picture by Holbein, which was purchased from us, I don't believe we have had anything which could be of such interest to your Museum.

I hope that these lines will find Mrs. Valentiner and yourself in good health and hoping to hear from you in the near future, kindly believe me

Yours sincerely,

Dr. W. R. Valentiner,
