Dear Dr. Valentiner:

Supplementing the information I gave you the other day about the "Portrait of Charles Deburau" by Daumier, I am sending you herewith a photostatic copy of the extract pertaining to the picture from the David-Weill Collection Catalgoue which was written by Mr. Henriot.

We have just received the very interesting information that Mr. David-Weill purchased this picture from Mr. Hector Brame who, you will remember, was one of the leading and most reliable dealers in Paris in his day.

With my kindest regards,

Please believe me

Very sincerely yours,

(René Seligmann)
