RS:R

April 23rd, 1937

Dear Dr. Valentiner:

Thank you so much for your letter of April 21st.

We have just received from Paris a "Race Course" pastel by Degas, 22 inches high by 25-1/2 inches wide which comes from the famous Lerolle Collection. It is reproduced in color in Lafond's book, Vol. I, opposite page 126. This piece is of the quality of the Havemeyer pastels and is so outstanding that I wonder if you would not care to have one of your New York friends acquire it.

We have also received a flower piece by Redon of the utmost quality which is one of the outstanding works of this artist.

I note with great interest that you will be here a few days before you sail in the middle of May. Don't forget to look me up as I would very much like to see you again.

With kindest regards,

Believe me to be

Yours very sincerely,

(René Seligmann)
