Dear Mr. Grigaut:

How very kind of you to have answered my letter so promptly, and let me thank you for your detailed and interesting lines of July 11th. I do appreciate immensely your intention of inquiring further as to the whereabouts of the drawing representing Bonaparte by Gros.

I did not know of Mrs. Booth's passing away, and I am wondering whether her heirs care sufficiently to keep her works of art, for confidentially, were it to be considered, I would be interested in acquiring this drawing. As I am leaving town for my vacation within the next two to three days, this is no pressing matter. Whatever Mrs. Booth's daughter's attitude will be as regards parting with the drawing, I hope she will be good enough to lend it to the exhibition. As you know, I am working on this show with Mr. Henry S. Francis of the Cleveland Museum and would like to keep him abreast of all developments.

I shall certainly abide by your good advice and write by and by to Mr. Richardson as regards the "Battle of Aboukir." I do recall that it was in the Duc de Trevise collection and, in fact, remember it too from the 1936 exhibition.

With renewed thanks for your kind help, and with best regards,

Sincerely yours,

Germain Seligman
