Dear Friend:

Thank you for your letter of the 16th. I appreciate your interest in writing me personally about "the Trinity," and I can certainly understand. Maybe by the end of the year of Cleveland decides to not buy the paining, we might be in a better position of acquire it.

It is mighty thoughtful of you to suggest that Mrs. Jones and I visit your friends in Lima. From what you write they must be an interesting couple, and I know we would enjoy meeting. At the present moment, I don't know just how our itinerary is going to shape up nor how long we will be there, but if we should get to Lima and there is an opportunity, we will be sure to look up your friends and give them your greetings.

There are busy days here at the University just prior to the beginning of our Commencement activities. We have young people graduating from forty states and a number of foreign countries. This is always a big event here- -sometime I hope you can be with us. Have a nice vacation, and thanks again for your letter.

Sincerely yours,
Bob - I'm afraid because of time we won't get over to the west coast.
