May 28, 1966 Dear Mr. Pope-Hennessy: May I once more impose upon your kindness and ask for your opinion and advice. Herein I am taking the liberty of sending you three photographs of a marble bust offered to me from Germany and of course, purporting to be by Vittoria. No pedigree of collection has been indicated so far - its height is 0,66. cm. You being the well-spring of information, I would not be suprised to hear that you have already been consulted on this very item, the art world being such a small community. I am remaining in Paris at the above address until the middle of June when I shall be looking forward to seeing you again in London. However, if in the meantime I could have a word from you, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanking you in advance for your kind reply and with personal regards, Sincerely yours, Germain Seligman John W. Pope-Hennessy, esq. Victoria and Albert Museum South Kensington London SW7 P. S. Should you already have photographs of this sculpture, would you mind putting these aside for me.
