November 22, 1968

Dear Mr. Hodgkinson:

It was pleasant to receive your letter of November 15th asking me to send to your Museu, for consideration, the marble figure - "Christ the Saviour" - about which I wrote Mr. J.W. Pope-Hennessy, November 5th.

I am happy to advise that this small sculpture will be forwarded to your Museum, to your attention, by AIR FREIGHT, momentarily. Herein, in duplicate, you will find our shipping advice, for Customs purposes, one of whichkindly return with your signature, after the safe arrival of the shipment.

My Firm will keep this item insured - also against breakage - while in your Museum's custody and in transit both ways.

You will notice that, in view of its previous character and small size, besides being packed in two cases it is protected by its own leather case.

Were your Museum to consider acquiring this marble, I would be obliged to you to have the actual consummation of the purchase take place on or after January 1st, 1969. In other words, up to that date, the sculpture would be on approval with your Museum and remain insured by my Firm.

Looking forward to hearing further from you,

Sincerely yours,

EXPRÉS Germain Seligman
