Dear Mr. Watson,

The Institute of Fine Arts has just advised us, Mrs. Seligman and me of the fascinating lecture you will hold on February 20th and which, to our chagrin, we will not be able to attend.

We are namely leaving town for about three weeks within the next couple of days and we are truly distressed not to have this opportunity of hearing you.

I do hope this will be a dissertation you will repeat at a later date, and that in any case we shall have the pleasure of seeing Mrs. Watson and you when we return by March 10th.

With renewed regrets and all good wishes,

Sincerely yours,

Germain Seligman
