Mr. Roy Peratrovich
Superintendent
Bureau of Indian Affairs
Anchorage Agency

Dear Roy,

Although this will not reach you for the dinner honoring you on your retirement, I would like to join with many Alaskans i telling you of my admiration and respect for your very considerable achievements.

It is testimony to your effectiveness and dedication that the once-lonely campaign for Native rights you helped launch is now well on its way and that it is filled with able, talented leaders of a new generation.

Your career has spanned decades of time, but ages of social change and your steadfast efforts have always been distinguished by the best traditions of public service and responsible social activism.

You have proved that you could meet the challenges of this demanding time as a leader of people desperate for leaders, an administrator of programs much in need of enlightened administration and an articulate spokesman for ideas too often left unspoken.

Your contributions will be long remembered because the struggle in which you have been engaged will make the path easier for those who follow you.

Sincerely,
Kay Fanning
