Guzman's 1. First song - About pain & struggle; keep pushing forward through struggle
2. Bambu's "Welcome to the Party" - Protest music, inspired his last album "Party workers" 
3. Guzman's exposure to rap music, brothers would dress him up like a hip hop star, influenced by Mexican rapper "Diablo?", however 4. he did not find similarities w/ his music & "Diablo".
5. Bambu attached his knowledge of gangs in LA to hip hop music & influences his love of DJing.

8. Guzman was influenced by Tupac who experienced a lot of pain 
Bambu did not appreciate Tupac until after his death, during his time in the Marine Corps & witnessed how others were politicized by Tupac's music
Guzman wanted to be "a rapper w/ a conscience"- he'd gotten in trouble before for being too radical & addressing current issues
