Why Pevilalieng 7 Especially important for shaadow puppet theater. Important to differeinlale just Armenia - also Turkey, Syria, S,Africa there are Commoralities. What is diff in Arm. puppets,is that they are coloredc a little transparent So Shadow is as well. In India, Libya (Maghred countiies)you can find this kind of puppetry.

There are 2 types of puppet both (orgins in India) :
1) moveaile , 2) as a slide, puppets date back to 19th Century.

Mikayel
Iran, Armenia, Turkey = instrument found. Has always been in Armenia but was considered low-brow compared to guitar + violins, but Mikael is revitalising this folk instrument. Can be traced to medieval times, can be seen on reliefs + miniatures

SONG TITLE = "Esh Hamet" (SP?), written by Ashur famous band from Syet Nova (SP?), 18th Century, comes through oral tradition, in 19th Century it was written down.

Theater was popular in 19th Century; but in 1950s it stopped w/death of last shadow theater. Armin this troupe formed a group of writers/entertainers, women anothropoloyist taught dance; she wrote down theater secrets from that last theater ->
