March 22/99.

Edward S. Hull, Jr., Esq.,
31 Nassau St., New York.

My dear Sir:

Your note of the 18th inst. reached me here this morning and I apologize for not having attended to the Fenellosa kakemono earlier. The fact is I have been so over-driven with work since Jan. 1 that all matters in connection with things Japanese have been temporarily laid aside.

I expect to be in Detroit shortly after April 1, when I will give attention to the matter. I regret to say that I cannot state positively whether the book covers were received or not, but I will also investigate that matter at the same time.

With kindest regards, I remain,

Yours very truly,
