Personally appeared before me James Massengill one of the acting justices of the Inferior Court of Catoosa County and after being duly sworn deposeth & say that they have been acquainted with G W Selvidge Agt Bureau Refugees F & AL for Whitfield County [[strikethrough]] and that he [[/strikethrough]] for twenty years and that he has always sustained a good moral upright character  we have never heard him spoken only with light of Christian Gentleman  we know him be a good Union man before the Rebellion and during the war that he was loyal to the US and in his relation to the (Col) people he has given them justice as we are [[?]] informed and as his jurisdiction has been Extended over our County Cotoosa we would be pleased that he be retained in office.
