Gentlemen:--
On my return home yesterday from a three months' absence abroad, I found your letters of May 23rd. If the three lithographs by Mr. Whistler are still in your possession, will you be good enough to favor me with the titles of same? If, on receipt thereof, I find I am without satisfactory proofs of these plates, I will be pleased to ask you to forward the same to me on approval. On the other hand, should I already have copies thereof, of course it will be unnecessary for you to take the trouble of shipping the proofs. Thanking you for your kind remembrance, I remain, Yours very truly, Charles L Freer
