I owe you an apology for this late reply to your letter of August 26th, sent from Hotel Touraine, Boston. My excuse is continued absence from my office.

You are very kind to have considered me in connection with the enterprise mentioned, but I must inform you that for the present at least I cannot make any further investments. Hence, it would not be worth your while to spend your valuable time in laying your matter before me.
