Dear Sir:--

Col. Hecker has handed me your letter of August 13th, in reference to reproducing Mr. Tryon's painting, "Early Spring-New England", now at the Pan-American Exposition.

In reply thereto, I desire to say that if you will send me a copy of the "Churchman" containing your article on "Landscape", I will let you know in due time whether or not the artist and myself wish to consent to your using a reproduction of the painting in your proposed forthcoming book.

Yours very truly,
Charles L Freer
