Sixty-eight pieces of Pottery, ten Kakemono, and four baskets. 

In doing this, we felt that we had purchased practically everything that was suitable for gifts. This, however, does not include some drawings in pastel and silver point, which are at Montross's Gallery, #372 Fifth Avenue. I had intended to have sent to you on approval at least one of the pastels, a Figure in Grey, by Dewing, but after the receipt of your telegram of the 4th, saying you would be in New York next week, I deemed it wiser to have you see the things while there; furthermore, I did not know what arrangements you might have made for the purchase of paintings or other of the very important presents. If you care for anything of this sort, I recommend you go to Montross, and look at the things he has by Dewing and Tryon. You will find pastels at $250.00 each and higher. He also has some fine examples of both Dewings and Tryon's work, should you care for them. 

At Yamanaka's you will find in my handwriting a description of each piece of potter and each kakemono, together with the price thereof. They will ship the goods to your friends direct, if you wish, or will send them en block to you at St Louis, but
