Frederick Keppel, Esq.,
#20 East 16th St.,
New York City.

My dear Mr. Keppel:--

Your good letter of December 13th, also the package of prints, were duly received.

A rush of guests and other matters prevented a thorough examination of the contents of the package until the latter part of last week.

I enjoyed the collection you sent very much, indeed, and have kept for my own group the five Fantin-Latours and the one Flameng, shown on the enclosed list.

I took the liberty of inviting Mr. and Mrs. Hecker to view the prints, and they selected the two Millets, two Delacroix and the one Whistler, shown on another list enclosed herewith.

Will you be good enough to have separate bills made, one in favor of Frank J. Hecker, and the other in favor of myself, in accordance with the lists, and have them forwarded here at your early convenience.

The balance of the prints were carefully packed under my own supervision, and delivered to the American Express Company last Saturday evening. They should reach you to-day or to-morrow. I hope they will arrive in good condition.
