My dear Sir:--

I have your postal card advising me of my appointment on the Finance Committee of the National Association of Manufactuers, and that a meeting of the Committee is to be held at the Cadillac Hotel at eight o'clock this evening. I regret very much that it will be impossible for me to serve on the Committee, as I am leaving town early next week to be gone for three months.

Yours very truly,
