Charles L. Freer, Esq.,
Care, Hotel Vendome,
Boston, Mass.

Dear Mr Freer:-
Although your telegram, addressed to Colonel Hecker, received to-day, requests that mail be sent you at the Waldorf, I deemed it better to get the enclosed letter No. 50, post-marked Boston, October 3rd, and addressed to Charles D. Freer, but not delivered here until yesterday, to you as soon as possible, also thinking that because of its having been sent from Boston, it is of sufficient importance to reach you while you are in Boston.
Immediately upon the receipt of the enclosed telegram from Mr. Dewing, and before the receipt of yours to Colonel Hecker giving your itinerary for the next few days, I sent the following telegram to Great Barrington:
"Charles L. Freer,
Care, Berkshire Inn,
Gt. Barrington, Mass.
Mr. Dewing wires from New York: "When are you coming here - answer Tenth Street"
and also wired Mr. Dewing, as follows:-
"T.W.Dewing,
51 West Tenth St.,
New York City.
Latest advice from Mr. Freer was from Great Barrington, Mass. I have repeated your telegram to him"
Upon receipt of your telegram, I wired the following to Lenox, which I trust you received in good time:-
