139 -138- #33 Ferry Avenue, Detroit, Michigan, November 20th, 1903. My dear Mr. Matsuki:- Your telegram reading:- "I am getting our new magazine under name Lotus relating to Japanese arts. This first number will be a Whistler commemoration number. Can you let me have one or two photos your fine Whistlers - say one the Balcony and another for reproduction. Can you do so in one week." came last night, and in reply I have just telegraphed you as follows: "Yes. Will send two photographs Whistler paintings, including Balcony, within one week." I have put away most carefully somewhere a photograph of the "Balcony", which I will try to find this afternoon and forward at once. I will have a photograph taken of one of the other important Whistlers and send it to you for use in your magazine, with which I hope you will have success.
