My Dear Sir:--

I very much regret that a long absence from Detroit has prevented earlier reply to your courteous letter of October 7th.

Since my return home a few days ago, I have had no opportunity to compare the list sent with my collection of Mr. Whistler's work, and to-night I am hurrying to Boston. Before going, I must tell you that I shall be very glad to co-operate with the Committee of the Grolier Club in its efforts to make a thoroughly fine exhibition of Mr. Whistler's etchings, and, after my return, about ten days hence, I will carefully compare the list with the collection, and let you know which of those required I can furnish.

Begging your indulgence for the delay, I remain,

Yours very truly,
Charles L Freer
