Beverley Chew, Esq.,
C/o Grolier Club,
New York City.

Dear Sir:--

The etchings by Whistler from my collection, covered by the list recently handed to your committee by Mr. Mansfield, are leaving Detroit to-day by American Express, insured, addressed to Mr. Howard Mansfield in care of the Grolier Club. I have notifi [[notified]] Mr. Mansfield of the shipment, and have sent him a list giving titles and showing the amount of valuation for insurance.

Instead of sending only the prints required for the first exhibition, I have sent all of those which I have agreed to lend. My reason for sending the entire lot now is to afford you the opportunity to select the ones you shall want for the opening exhibition, and the remainder, I trust, you will return to me to be retained here until the balance are needed for your autumn exhibitions.

This action on my part will also give the Committee an opportunity to make a complete list of all those which are to be loaned by me.

Yours very truly, Charles L Freer
