Jr- 0./ I am directed by Gen'l Gregory to acknowledge the receipt of the communication on your behalf of many of your fellow citizens for an appointment as Agent of the Freedmen's Bureau, and in reply to state that no citizen can be appointed at present as there are no funds to pay them- I am.
