Dear Sir,

Your letter of Oct 14 1865 came to hand this morning. The Boxes you speak of were duly received also the Library. I have distributed some of the books which are very acceptable. The Box of German Testaments are much wanted here as there are a great many Germans on the Island who would be glad to get them. I am very much obliged to the Christian Commission for the Books. We shall await orders in regard to the German Testaments.
