Tyler, Texas. 646./664 Sir: - Referring to your Report for the month of June you state that the Sheriff's of your Sub. District fail to do their duty. General Reynolds directs that you prefer specific charges against those who have failed to do their duty and recommend suitable persons to fill their places. Very Respectfully, Your Ob't. Serv't. Charles A. Vernou 2 Lieut. 4 Cav., A.A.A. Genl. 653. Head qrs Dist of Texas, Bureau R., F. & A.L. Austin, Texas. July 13. 1868. Bledsoe Mr Willis A. Sub Asst. Com. Lancaster, Texas. 624./58 Sir, Enclosed you find an order relieving you from duty in the Bureau to take effect on the 20th inst. This is done from the fact that Lieut. Norton with a detachment of troops has been stationed at Dallas, Texas, which renders it unnecessary to have an Agent in Lancaster; and it was understood that your private business would prevent you from assignments to duty in any other portion of the State. General Reynolds desires me to express to you his satisfaction with the manner in which you have discharged your duties while an Agent of the Bureau. I am, Very Respectfully, Your Obt. Serv't.
